Credits are transferred; grades are not. The credits transferred from another school do not affect a student's grade-point average.
Only courses in which a grade of 'C' (2.0) or higher is earned will be considered for transfer. Course work completed on a Pass/Fail or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis typically will not be transferred, unless the transcript indicates the alternative grade is equivalent to 'C' (2.0) or higher.
Course work must be completed at a regionally accredited institution.
Only courses taken at the undergraduate level will be eligible for transfer consideration.
Penn State must offer a similar course or program of study in order to award transfer credit.
Courses at Penn State carry semester hours of credit. Courses evaluated for transfer from institutions with different credit systems (quarter hours, units) are converted to semester hours of credit.
Explanations of transfer credit designations are found at
Penn State Credit Equivalencies.
If appropriate, general credits may be used to fulfill
degree requirements.
These general credits may be applied to the program of study in accordance with the policies established by the student's college of enrollment.
